Twisted-Eye Web Slings

Twisted-eye web slings have looped eyes on both ends that are twisted 90° to the sling's body to keep their eyes open. Also known as Type 4 web slings, their twisted eyes create secure choker hitches around loads but can also be set up as vertical or basket hitches. Twisted-eye slings connect with lifting and rigging hardware like hooks, hoist rings, links, and shackles. Web slings have labels with information regarding their rated capacities set by their manufacturer that should be carefully reviewed before use. The rated capacity of a sling should always exceed the weight of the load. Note: These web slings should never be used to lift people.
