Marine Straight Centrifugal Pumps
Marine straight centrifugal pumps have an intake connection in-line with the impeller's eye and shaft. They require regular priming or for the liquid source to be located above the intake. The pump's head and flow performance increase as the HP rating increases. These pumps have either a centre discharge where the port is above the intake or a side discharge where the port is to the side of the volute. The discharge port locations provide various plumbing arrangement solutions during installation. Marine straight centrifugal pumps circulate and transfer liquids in offshore applications. Impellers rotate within the pump and move liquids through a system using centrifugal force.
