Hardfacing Metal-Cored Wire
Hardfacing metal-cored wire provides filler metal for creating wear-resistant surfaces on metal parts to extend their service life. It is typically used to repair worn parts or overlay new parts. The wire has a powdered metal core and typically provides faster travel speeds and higher deposition rates than solid MIG wire. It requires external shielding gas to keep contaminants out of the weld pool. This wire comes on a coil or spool and is fed through a compatible gun in GMAW (gas metal arc welding) tasks.
