Casters with two or three wheels spread the load evenly across the wheels, which reduces friction between the floor and the wheels. The weight capacity of the caster increases as the number of wheels on the caster increases.

Friction-Ring Stem Casters

Friction-ring stem casters have a stem that presses into compatibly sized holes on furniture or equipment. A spring ring at the end of the stem expands to hold the caster in place once installed in the hole or socket. Also known as grip-ring stem casters, friction-ring stem casters are used on furniture or equipment such as office chairs, tables, and medical equipment to create and maintain mobility. Friction-ring stem casters require few or no tools for installation, making them well-suited for applications requiring frequent caster replacement.
