External Retaining Rings

External retaining rings, also called snap rings or circlips, fit into grooves cut into shafts to help retain components and keep the shaft inside the assembly. They are removable and reusable for easy maintenance and repair on high-wear components. Some rings feature wings or fingers on their inner surface to provide additional grip on the shaft.
